Since we are dealing with the skills of a 1st grader, we went the route that would enable him to actually be more involved than having dad do all the work- we bought the car already made at Hobby Lobby and Josh was anxious to start on it. He spent quite a bit of time the other night sanding and sanding. Then he will paint, and put on the wheels and weights. We have until April 1st for the big derby day.
His brother REALLY wanted to help too. The day before he had asked Josh if he could help paint it and Josh agreed as long as he didn't do any "scribble scrabble" on it. So first words out of Zach's mouth the next morning (before he could even focus his eyes or walk a straight line) were, "can we paint Josh's car now?"
