Cripple Creek Ice Festival

First stop- Green Mountain Falls- Dave and Josh brought their ice skates to try out for a few minutes...
But upon further inspection, finding running water at the edge of the pond, they thought better of the idea
We stopped at a little jerky shack and Dave got some smoked elk jerky- pretty good. (for those with us in Dec.- same little shack, but the guy was actually there and we didn't have to search for him at space 117!)

The 2 little ones napped most the way
So only Josh got out at castle park in Woodland Park to play for a few minutes

Little old mining, now gambling town of Cripple Creek
an ice slide on sleds

an ice carriage - that was some cold sitting

this was a BIG castle- biggest ice sculpture I've ever seen- very cool

using chain saws to do some sculpting
Dave's second treat- big smoked turkey leg (gag me!) but he loves 'em!

Zach complained a bit about the cold- it was a chilly 30 degrees. (we couldn't find Lexi's cute pink hat but luckily had a spare blue one in the car.)
waiting on the curb for the 'fire and ice' show.
This was about all we could see (by holding the camera above our heads) Not sure it was worth the cold wait.

The ice maze.

A pretty interesting (non southern california) thing to do!
