Spring Break

Sat. afternoon I took the boys to rent their first Wii games- we have 2 but they had not tried any others. They were VERY excited. Zach picked spiderman and Josh picked Ben 10. (those games are like almost $10 each to rent! We have these for 5 days and then will only be going back on special occasions like maybe bday.) Yesterday two friends from our bible study came over for picnic lunch inside (since it was a bit cold for a park day) and we had 9 kids playing downstairs- they had fun. Today it was just a couple errands, playing more Wii and lunch at Zach's favorite restaurant, costco. Tomorrow we are driving to Denver to visit with a friend and her 2 boys and will be going a fun kid jump place- I will have photos. Of course our best days were last week and this past weekend, now that it is spring break it is 40's-50's and it could snow on friday.

Boys Conversations

Zach had just started playing the spiderman WII game we rented and he says, "I'm trying to get away."
Josh replied, "Zach, escaping is not what spiderman does!"

Zach asked if it was still spring break today and if I had spring break too.(never a break) Josh said, "she doesn't work."(what?!!?) Zach said, "she does have to watch over woo (lu) and she does have to tell us what to do."(thank you!) I then asked them what they thought I did all day and Josh said, "cook food and vacuum" Zach said, "pray and drink so you can stay alive"
I asked what they thought dad did and Josh said, "work, work, work and at night he comes back" and Zach said "He works until night" (they have no idea what he does)

Zachisms 21

Out of the blue during breakfast, "Tigers just eat right. They just take one bite and then another. They eat tiger cereal."

Last week we were talking about spring break and how we have school days and then we have days off. Zach starts saying, "I like breaks mostly. I really just like off days."

Zach tripped and almost fell face down at the park so I asked if he was ok and he said, "Yeah, I'm ok, just had a little heart attack, but I'm ok."

"I have to do what a boy has to do!"

Josh's Award Assembly

Yesterday morning Zach, Lexi and I went to watch Josh get an award at his assembly. It was a combination of citizenship and academics- way to go Josh!

After each group of awards they would call up 2 of the kindergarteners and 2 of the first graders to do some carnival type games on stage- Josh got called up to do horseshoes- the kindergarteners won. Oh well

Lexi cheering for her brother (and everyone else- she enjoyed the clapping part)
Josh's latest quotes-
He was eating something spicy and said, "it tastes like Texas on my lips!" Not sure where he got that, but we knew what he was saying and it kinda fit.
On saint patricks day we brought the cornbeef to the table and when josh saw it he said, "we're eating bird food??" He saw a bunch of seeds on top of the meat, all the spices and herbs, and it did look pretty similar to bird food.

My Munchkin

It was hat time again this morning...

Baby, Purse, shoes, cell phone- ready to go!
The girl can play dolls AND dinosaurs with the best of them!
Just SOME of the boys dinoasurs out on the coffee table turned "great valley".
Looking through these binoculars she was saying, "say cheese!" I do take a lot of photos.
This morning I told Lexi that it was almost bath time. She started running up the stairs yelling, "Zach, hide!"
Whenever the boys, usually Zach, says something she doesn't like (like telling her what to do, or that she's in trouble) she will say in a whiny, accusatory tone, "mom, Zachie say dat"
For those that might feel bad for Josh not being in half of the posts I put up I have 2 responses- 1. He is in school all day while I hang out with the other 2
2. If you saw the boxes and albums full of first baby Josh photos you wouldn't feel so bad
(at least that's what I have to tell myself when I feel badly about it:)

St. Patty's Day- Hunt

A hunt for green coins and a little prize, snack of green rice crispy treats and of course cornbeef and cabbage and potatoes for dinner.

St. Patty's Day- Park

We picked Dave up at work (drove the 2 minutes it takes to the park) had some lunch and let the kids play. It was bea-u-tiful! Maybe 75 degrees. Don't the mountains look like a pull down background?! You too could live in this city of beautiful backdrops:)

Zach takin it easy for a few minutes

Hat Modeling

Lexi likes to grab the boys hats and wear them around the house...and she looks so cute doing it:)

She wanted me to wear one too
Some fancy purple high heals to complete the outfit

and of course superman- this is the epitome of Lexi- tomboy meats girly girl.

Samuri Zachari

His hair is getting a bit long on top... Last night I put it in a pony tail and fully expected it to come out within seconds, but it turned into Samuri time and when he had to take it out to go to bed he asked me if I could put it back in tomorrow. (Luckily I think he forgot about it this morning)

Krazy Kids

When we got in the car the other day to go pick up Josh Zach says, "well....it's nice to be on earth again!" I'm not sure where he was, I was too busy laughing to ask.

Lexi has finally left her first movie love. After a 2 month run of Kung Fu Panda she has replaced her #1 request with "move it, move it" meaning Madagascar. The change is nice, but quickly grows old itself when it is requested on a daily or more than daily basis.
Her most requested cartoon is "Arfa" Now this is really a mix of 2 shows she likes, Arthur and Martha so I am not sure if she is asking for Martha, or Arthur or if she likes both and the combo is on purpose.
I left the kids with our neighbor for a couple hours last Friday when I headed to the airport since it was before Dave returned home from work. I heard later that evening from Dave that Lexi had found the 12 year olds toothbrush, was using it on her own teeth and then dipping it in the dog's water bowl to get water on it. I should have warned the neighbor that if she's not watched like a hawk she does things like this. All the time.
Whenever I leave the kids with Dave he goes into "lockdown mode" as he calls it. He locks the doors (for the hour, day or weekend, whatever it may be), and my guess is they watch cartoons, play games, eat and sleep. Which suits all four of them fine and it is probably safer for all involved. So, they made it through last weekends lockdown and the house was even pretty clean when I returned!
