3 Yr. Old Check-up

Everything looked good at Lexi's 3 yr. appt. She has slacked off from her brother's in the height department. They were all pretty much the same hieght until now- Lexi is about 2 inches shorter than her brother's were at age 3.

she likes to blowdry her own hair sometimes (especially if it is close to bedtime cause she doesn't like laying down on wet hair)
she LOVES to help in the kitchen- cooking, dishes, whatever...

trying on all her bday dress up dresses and leotards
Her specially chosen outfit- a princess dress over her clothes with another pink skirt on under the dress and over the pants along with the scarf... she's got a style all her own:) At least it was a warm outfit.
She is a sweet and helpful girl- so fun and a real joy. (now if we could just get the potty training thing down...)

Sat. Events

unfortunately the camera did not accompany us:( The boys had fun and did great at the Sparks-A-Rama and then Josh got his wolf badge at the Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts. His pinewood derby is coming up in about 3 weeks. Need to do some more work on the car...

This weekend was cold and snowy and had some sickness going around. Also, Zachary has his very first loose tooth! He tried saying he couldn't go to school cause of it, but that excuse didn't fly. (he was a bit worried about what would happen if it fell out at school- so after we went over what he should do he was better with it)

Baby Analise

Lexi got to pick out a baby doll for her birthday- Thank you Nana & Papa! She first named her Princess Analise and then it was Sissy Analise.

She wanted to give her a ride on her shoulders like she sits on her dad's shoulders.
She also needed a purple bow in her hair like Analise.
and of course needed to change her diaper.
She's a good little momma.

V-Day

Lexi wanted to do valentine cards when her brothers did and then for some reason she wanted to store them in the refrigerator. She said they would be "nice and cold"

comin home with all the valentine cards and goodies from class parties on Thursday
some of our goodies on Sunday
Lexi also decorated some hearts she wanted displayed ON the fridge.
jello hearts

after church we played some games- this is Lexi and mommy playing "pretty pretty princess"- aren't we pretty?!?! We also watched some olypmics and then headed back to church for AWANA

then there was the hairbrush stuck in Lexi's hair later that evening... for a few minutes I thought we might be cutting some hair, luckily it all came out ok.

Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge

Saturday we went to Denver and tried something new. The wildlife refuge there has a visitors center with lots of cool stuff to view, touch and do. They also offer a 2 hour tour of the area in search of animals out in the wild. All for free! It was a pretty neat place. It would be nice to see at different times of the year as well to maybe see different animals as well as maybe a little more green or color next time!

lots of mule deer as well as white tailed deer
the kids were pretty good, but it was a bit long and not as captivating for the 2 youngin's

lots of geese

binoculars they passed around- the kids really liked that- next time we should bring some of our own

large herd of bison that were actually running around in circles like you might see in a western movie- very cool
quite a few bald eagles

visitor's center

After the refuge we stopped by the Bass Pro Shops store- oh my goodness!! If you have never been you need to check one out! It was the biggest, coolest, outdoor store I have ever seen. There were life sized stuffed animals all over the store, an aquarium, waterfall, fireplace, with any and every kind of outdoor equipment you could think of. It even had a starbucks in the middle and a restaurant attached to it. It felt like we had wandered around in there for maybe half an hour only to find out it had been an hour and a half!

Dave's heaven- the fly fishing section

our boys are ready to ride!!

Officially 3 Years Old

I love, love, love the boys but soooooo love havin' a girl to do some girly stuff with- this was our day....

Every day starts with Rico ~ this girl LOVES her dog....

Lexi and mom got to go have coffee (and juice) and lexi picked out a peanut butter chocolate chip bar at our cute coffee house, Montegues. When I asked her what she wanted to talk about surprisingly she said, "Rico":)
she's THREE!! (finally since she has seemed 3 for the past year)
she likes to stir my coffee for me

she watched the ladies next to us for a few minutes and then said, "mom, we should talk and laugh" so she would mumble something and then belt out a loud fakish laugh. So we did that for a bit- funny girl.
she also wanted to try out a different table for a few minutes (and then wanted to switch back to our original table- and because she was the birthday girl I obliged!)
time for the birthday girl's first manicure! well, actually just a nail painting, cheaper and less attention span required for that. Of the 30 colors of nail polish on the wall she went immediately to the brightest almost neon pink there was.

chompin' away on her gum while gettin' her nails done- she also loves gum
pretty nails with flowers even
drying time

then a little time looking at the animals in the pet store and playing at the mall play area

after picking up the boys from school we went straight to Chuck E. Cheese's to get Lexi's free 20 tokens for her bday (and use some of the other's we have had for a long time) Tues. afternoon was a great non-crowded time to go

She sat next to the fake chuck E. but was very sure she did not want to see the real chuck E. who walks around. Luckily we didn't.

Lexi had a pretty mean wind up for skee ball (and yet it would still rarely make it into the holes)

at home she opened a couple more gifts and did a little cake

A good day for all and very good for our little three year old!
