Dress up @ School & Award Assembly

Of course, Lexi had to dress up too if the boys were and of course, it was the monumental struggle as always to get a picture of the 3 of them all looking at the camera and smiling

Zach and the 2 buddies he talks about most in his class
The ultimate spectator- as soon as she saw Zach walk into the gym she started yelling, "way to go Zachie- you can do it!" She didn't even know what he was going to be doing, but she is a natural born cheerleader:)

Zach getting his award- and not looking all that happy about it

Jack-O-Lanterns

Started off with dinner of fritos & chili dip, cornbread and salami/cream cheese appetizers

team Z & L
designing the face

Josh's
Zach & Lexi's- face design by Zach

I told the boys that there is a day coming soon when if they don't put their hands in the pumpkins to pull all the stuff out then they won't have a jack-o-lantern. This was another year of mom pretty much did 2 pumpkins on her own (one of the reasons there were 2 and not 3). But the kids had fun poking the cutters into the pumpkins and were the mastermind behind what they would look like.

Zach & Lex

Zach~
Yesterday he says, "Guess who's the funniest in my class?" I asked who and he said, "ME!"
I asked if someone had told him that and he said, "no, I just heard them say it one to another."

He was helping me make dinner the other day and asked what was next. When I told him I didn't know he said, "check the map!" (recipe card:)

Yesterday he had told me he was going to have a different teacher for a little bit while his teacher was at a meeting and then she would come back. Today after school I asked him how his substitute teacher was and he said, "she was just about to die." I replied, "what? why?" and Zach says, "she was old."

Lexi~
She alternates between Dave and I and comes up and says, "it's your turn to change me" when she needs a new diaper.

She has to have her socks pulled all the way up (and doesn't like to wear the ankle socks) so if I don't pull it all the way up straight she says, "it's not cozy yet."

The other day she said to the dog, "Rico, you look lovely" and "Rico, I like your eyes." She LOVES Rico her big brown dog.

Cookies & Snow

these two kept sneeking the chocolate chips
Zach wanted an all green pumpkin

Big, fluffy snowflakes- look so pretty coming down...

the sun came out and it was sparkly!

Pikes Peak- she's all dressed up in snow now
wintertime @ the car lot- quite a job to keep wiping snow off all the cars

Fountain Creek Nature Center- Monday

Dave had Monday off so wanting to spend a little more time with the kids- we took them out of school an hour early, stopped to get a 49 cent ice cream cone at mcdonalds and went to the nature center to enjoy the beautiful fall day.

Zach's usually our scraggler- 50 paces behind everyone else

outstanding colors- the beauty of God's creation

we made Zach carry Lexi's backpack for a bit- he wasn't too happy about carrying the pink backpack

monkeys can't pass up on tree climbing

like a photo studio backdrop... but real life here in the springs:) awesome!

I like to think of this as brother's sweet hug, but they assured me it was wrestling, not hugging
the little ones were a bit worn out by the end of our walk-characters!
and the littlest one was carrying all the water bottles for everyone in her backpack- she's a trooper
